Products built, tested and supplied within Diodes standard quality control parameters. Many parts are qualified in accordance with applicable JEDEC standards (as referenced in AEC-Q) for High Reliability but do not have all the necessary attributes of Automotive Grade products.
Product with a Q suffix that has passed the rigorous AECQ reliability standard AND can be supplied on request with a PPAP. Automotive grade Q-suffix parts are fully supported for Automotive customers via PPAP and IATF 16949:2016 certified manufacturing sites.
A PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is a set of documents provided by suppliers providing detailed testing, quality and reliability information for Automotive Grade devices as specified by AIAG.
The IATF 16949:2016 certification is a technical specification for automotive sector quality management systems that applies to the design/development, production and servicing of automotive-related products. It is supplemental to ISO 9001:2015.
Product development and manufacturing of automotive grade products are subject to design and process FMEA risk assessments.
Manufacturing for automotive grade products is subject to dedicated automotive flows including additional in-line quality controls.
Diodes applies an automotive test strategy to automotive grade products that include statistical process control, i.e. PAT, SBL, SYL based on AEC-Q001 and AEC-Q002 guidelines.
