Application Engineer - Milpitas, CA

Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) is seeking an Application Engineer who will work in signal integrity and validation. The engineer is responsible for Diodes’ High Performance Interface (HPI) business unit and all its products which include: PCIe, USB, and optical transimpedance amplifiers.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the Design Engineer group to define chip/package/board level insertion loss budget and routing strategy and provide layout optimization recommendations to meet SIPI requirements.
Take an active role in executing the product bench validation until the ramp. This includes working with the product engineer for system SIPI debugging, RF test fixture de-embedding, eye diagram, jitter, and BER measurement and analysis.
Develop IC application reference design boards to verify interface standard compliance.
Handle direct customer communication with urgent technical issues. Help customers to debug the application until production start.
Support internal IC design teams to verify new product concepts.
Set and adjust the team’s priorities and make tradeoffs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

MSEE with 5 years of 32Gb/s High-Speed Serial Interface industrial experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Experience with one of the following: HSPICE, ADS, HFSS
Strong optical model measurement skills is a plus
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to guide critical decisions
Ability to work well with cross-function and cross time zone teams
Be able to travel internationally
