Diodes Incorporated — Analog and discrete power solutions

Senior Device Integration Engineer - South Portland, ME

Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) is seeking a senior level device integration engineer to help develop advanced high voltage BCD process technologies for analog IC products. This person will join the Technology Development team at the South Portland, Maine Fab (SPFAB). This is an opportunity to work on designing, implementing, and qualifying process flows for advanced analog products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defining technology characteristics and targets to enable specific analog products.
  • Choosing and designing the needed devices for new IC technologies.
  • Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of engineers to design process flows meeting product requirements.
  • Modeling the physical structure and electrical performance of analog semiconductor integrated circuit components using computer device simulation.
  • Working closely with process and sustaining engineers to design process flows meeting product requirements.
  • Modeling the physical structure and electrical performance of analog semiconductors integrated circuit components using computer device simulation.
  • Working closely with process and sustaining engineers to implement and debug new process technologies into the production environment.
  • Understanding fully device and process integration electrical impacts and design tradeoffs:
  • Electrical characterization and understanding of unit process inputs versus electrical responses and sensitivities.
  • Testing and understanding/correlation of unit process targets and limits to the required electrical specs.
  • Understanding of device physics and device construction to a level whereupon intelligent decisions are made regarding unit process and integration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A Master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, or related field; Ph.D. preferred
  • 5 + years of experience in solid state physics and computational simulation of semiconductor devices
  • Experience in semiconductor fab processing
  • Solid knowledge of device physics and process integration
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed (2-6 trips per year)
  • Familiarity with commercial TCAD tools such as Silvaco or Sentaurus
  • Six-sigma training (Black or Green belt), and/or lean manufacturing certification
  • Understanding of production SPC/DoE methodology
