Technical Sales Manager – Minneapolis, MN

Diodes Incorporated is seeking a Technical Sales Manager responsible for supporting customer accounts in the North Central Region.  Primary responsibilities include managing and growing sales activity in the territory by driving new business opportunities and working closely with internal and external resources to solve customers’ design challenges. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibility: 

  • Work with key customer accounts to achieve new design wins and increased product sales   
  • Develop strategic plans, set annual performance budgets, establish and manage key performance indicators, and drive market activity to meet performance expectations 
  • Work closely with Manufacturer’s Sales Representatives and distribution channel partners to drive new business within the territory
  • Develop territory and key customer business plans to identify and grow new opportunities, implement the established plans, and communicate progress to the Diodes Executive Team   
  • Effectively identify and communicate customer requirements to the Sales and Marketing teams along with coordinating efforts to win new business opportunities 
  • Drive Marketing, Applications and Engineering teams to define and develop new products needed to support the customer base in the territory
  • Work closely with assigned Field Application Engineers and direct customer support within the territory
  • Regular travel within territory (40-50%) to support and drive sales efforts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • 5 – 10 years of sales experience with account and/or territory management
  • BSEE degree and semiconductor or technical sales experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable of products and customer needs, how they match-up and able to effectively articulate Diodes Incorporated solutions and value proposition
  • Understands the technical elements of Diodes Incorporated product lines
  • Strong skills in verbal and written communications
  • Excellent presentation skills for large or small groups
  • Strong leadership capabilities, supervisory skills and experience in motivating and training Manufacturer's Representative sales force and Distributor partners
  • Proactive self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision and high capacity to support multiple tasks with varying levels of complexity
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales quota
  • High level of personal drive and responsiveness with attention to detail and follow through to close new business opportunities in fast paced sales environment
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills are required to be effective, while simultaneously supporting multiple business opportunities
  • Excellent personal skills to create, develop and foster key customer relationships
