Current Monitors

Diodes’ current monitors, also known as current shunt monitors or current sense amplifiers, offer a large variety of high-performance devices for high-side and low-side current measurement. They greatly simplify the measurement of load currents from the presence of large common-mode voltages.

There are several system benefits associated when using our current monitors, including ease-of-use, cost effectiveness, reduced PCB sizes, and real-time overcurrent protection and current measurement for closed-loop feedback.

When taking into account the application’s parameters, consider the measured current range and the shunt resistor used. For better accuracy, it is important to consider datasheet specifications such as offset voltage, gain error, bandwidth, CMRR and common-mode voltage.

Diodes’ current monitor families contain variants with an array of features to target different consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. They tend to be easier to use, more precise, and less prone to noise compared to discrete solutions.

Automotive-compliant variants are also available. These devices are qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 in facilities certified to IATF 16949 and supporting PPAP documentation.
