Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete, logic and analog semiconductor markets, today introduced four new multifunction gate devices. These devices allow user-customized logic configurations to replace multiple devices with a single part. This product line expansion adds a new level of versatility to Diodes Incorporated’s existing 74AUP1G logic family and provides valuable space and weight saving benefits in space-constrained applications such as fitness wearables, smartphones and other portable consumer electronic devices.
The 74AUP1G57, 74AUP1G58, 74AUP1G97 and 74AUP1G98 provide various base gate arrangements with three inputs and one output, from which the user can configure the required logic function: AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XOR, XNOR or MUX. Each part is available in four package types, ranging in size from SOT26, SOT363 and DFN1410 to the smallest DFN1010 package, measuring 1.0mm x 1.0mm x 0.39mm. These options provide designers with wide array of options for their end-system requirements.
The low-voltage and low-power consumption of the advanced ultra-low power (AUP) logic family also extends to these new multifunction gate devices. In next-generation consumer electronic products battery life is critical and highly sought after. The 74AUP1Gxx parts not only feature a very low supply current (<0.9μA at up to +85°C) and low static power consumption, but can operate at low voltage (down to 0.8V VCC) to conserve even more power. Other consumer applications that can benefit from the versatility, power, size and performance advantages of the 74AUP1Gxx devices are tablets, e-readers, MP3 players, hand-held games and GPS devices.
