The AL1772 is a high integration chip with an Offline High Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller and a single/dual-channel Linear LED driver in one package. AL1772 implements an optimized 2-stage topology for a wide power range of connected lighting applications. It is targeted for 1-Channel Dimmable and 2-Channel Tunable White and various Connected Lighting applications.
Based on Primary Side Regulation (PSR) implementation, the PFC controller does not require Opto-coupler and any secondary feedback circuit to save overall BOM cost and it operates at Quasi-Resonant (QR) mode where MOSFET is turned on at the valley of the drain voltage, which minimizes switching loss and results in high efficiency.
The key merits of the Single/Dual Dimmable Linear LED driver attribute to excellent dimming performance, low standby power, ease of system implementation, and great product scalability. The AL1772 has protection features to ensure robust and safety operation of the Connected Lighting systems. The AL1772 can support applications with LED current (Up 1500mA) and is available in low thermal resistance package TSSOP-16EP.
