Pericom Semiconductor Corporation (now part of Diodes Incorporated) (NASDAQ: DIOD), a leading supplier of serial high-speed switching, signal integrity, connectivity and timing solutions, today announced the industry's first USB Type-C™ solution supporting switching for USB 3.1 Gen 2 and DisplayPort 1.3 Alternate Mode intended for notebook, desktop PC, All In One PC, Monitor, and docking applications.
Pericom's PI3USB31532 solution offers a 6x4 differential crossbar signal switch with minimal insertion loss and crosstalk supporting Alternate Mode switching that allows SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 2) and 8.1 Gbps DisplayPort DP 1.3 signals through a USB-C connector, enabling applications for 4K UHD displays @120Hz or 8K UHD display @60Hz frame rate with 24-bit RGB color.
